MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I began painting 2 months ago. This is my 3 attempt. The first 2 painting photos have been optimized for the internet, and must be re-photographed before entering for critic.
This image has also been optomized and all parts are not clear...

I like how the area of reeds lower left (touching edge) has a shape that in some way compliments the larger land form at right (touching the edge)

The land structure is nice and gives a direction for your eye to follow. The light, which was, by rights of your title, to be the focal point, appears to peater out into the sky. This may be due to either the scan or too much of the same colors in both. If you need to make it stand out, I would give it more of a dark and light side.

It appears to me that the sky is too much all one color... needs some pink and lavendar to vary the expanse... also to play up the ray of light from the lighthouse... From the image here, we cannot see the direction of the light.
