Hi everyone  eeek, just realised it's Friday the 13 !!!

Back in Singapore YAY, actually have been for almost a week, but have been concentrating on getting the place sorted out. DH had done a great job of keeping himself fed and clothed, but had rather spread that process over the entire apartment. Of course I didn't help by coming through the door and dumping all my stuff from the extended stay in London in the middle of the living room. He did win huge hero points for being at the airport to meet me though, such a nice surprise. Since I was due to arrive in the middle of the afternoon on a work day I didn't ask him to come collect me, but he checked the arrival time and headed over to Changi.

Beginning to be almost back to normal ( or what passes for normal around here ) now. Washing and ironing nearly caught up, Winter clothes ready to be filed away in the depths of the spare bedroom. I took lots of pix after I got the furniture sorted in London, but need to deal with them, then I will share. Only had to leave a couple of things not squared away. Because the weather was terrible my last week ( mad amounts of snow in London ) the managing agent didn't make it round to have a look. I have the relevant certs and things so hope we can sort out getting our deposit back from him from here. Also still waiting on one part that needs replacing for the taps, it didn't fit properly and got dinged ages ago, replacement was supposed to be sent but never arrived. Builder has chased them again and they have promised to get another one sent from Germany. It is only a little thing but since they were an expensive piece of kit I thought I would like them sans ding.

Havn't caught up with the last weeks WIA's, so shall go read in a minute. Hugs to you all, it will be good to be able to pop in here on a regular basis I hope. Fiona

Hi Fiona! Weird to see it is Friday for you already! I is just past 7:00pm on Thursday for me. So glad you are almost settled at home again and that you left London with everything done except a few odd bits. I think that is totally amazing considering all you had to get accomplished in such a short time. How sweet of the DH to meet your flight! That guy must have missed you a bit!! Look forward to seeing you pictures and to having you pop in for a visit. I thought of you this afternoon when I turned on the tap and nothing came out! For some reason we are without water and Norm didn't call to be sure the water folks were aware of it so it may be a long night here on Valley Creek! Welcome back!!

Fiona, It is so nice to see you back here, and back at home. Yea for things mostly done, and a return to "normal" whatever that means. I don't think I have had a lot of that for the past couple of years. Oh well, I have been too busy to notice. Hugs!!! Nice your DH was there to meet you, that is a nice surprise.

Good morning!

Fiona - glad to see you're back home safe and sound. Can't wait to see the pics of the flat. How sweet of your dh to pick you up at the airport!

 Gwen, Rita and everyone!

I had a horrible day yesterday. Thursdays are my long day of the week when I volunteer at the school and then work. Last night after work I had to go out to this store where there's a monthly craft show and drop off my pendants. The problem was that from the time I woke up I had a headache and it got worse and worse throughout the day. I don't think it was a migraine because I wasn't light sensitive but it hurt worse than any headache I've had before. I was slammed until about 4pm at work and then I collapsed into the office chair and rested my head and eyes as much as I could.

On a good note my boss called me and said she found a retro bead liner at Paula Radke's booth for $150 (normally $350). It's been used a few times but Paula said it was too slow for her production work. I told her to grab it at such a good price. So far that and a strand of 6mm faceted watermelon tourmaline are my goodies from her trip.

Today I'm still feeling bits of my headache so I've already taken some Advil and I'm going to relax until I have to get Chase to school. I have to work this afternoon at the store and then there is a "thing" at the Bellvue store with wine and cheese for the first night of the craft sale thing.

TGIF and a three day weekend for us!

Dawn, ouch to the headache! Great score on the bead liner!!

Gwen, hope you get your water back!! That's not somethin you ever want to be without!!

Hi all - I make this quick. Had to go through my workday on a 76/52 bloodpressure. Kept falling asleep at my desk and during meetings. This is ridiculous - I'll see my doc on monday and I'm gonna tell her where she can put that triple-dose of BP meds! I can't concentrate at all, and I sure as hell can't work with that low a BP...
Sorry all for another no-catching up - I miss hanging out here properly!

A quick hi and I'll be back later. It's shopping with the sisters again. We seem to hit Target, Michaels, and Trader Joes on a weekly basis.

Andee, Big Hugs!!!

Dawn, I had that same headache yesterday, but was busy also so just kept going. Today much better, yea!! Nice score on the bead liner and the tourmaline. I love that stuff!!

Barrie, Sorry you had to get up so early. I did too. Had to be at work in the print side of things today from 8:30 to 5:30 long day. Oh well, it actually pays me a reasonable amount of money for what I do.

Maggie, I hope you have fun with your sisters. I think it is fun to have a routine with someone you love. You will all have those memories forever. I treasure the things my kids and I repeat, and the little rituals dad and I perform daily. Nice stuff. Hugs!!! Didn't have time to check my mail yesterday, I be I have hearts waiting for me tonight!!!

Did I tell you guys, "I SOLD MY FIRST BEAD!!!" A heart pendant I had made with one of my lampwork heart beads. Yea!!!

Andee - wow that's scary! You definitely need to talk to your doc.

Barrie - a quiet day sounds nice. Hope you get your work done.

Maggie - have fun with your sisters!

Rita - CONGRATS!! Glad you're feeling better today. I'm still feeling a little of mine.

Okay I'm working on the TW blog interviews. I went and collected everyone's info from the team thread but it's missing full names and email addresses. I think I'll probably just request these via PMs and do the interview process by email so I can request pictures and such. Working on finalizing the questions and then I'll start working on the actual interviews. Any ideas for good questions are welcome.

Hi all
Friday evening and nowhere I have to go, what could be nicer. I got the casting letter today and I have been given the part I wanted, nothing much in the way of lines but a lot of harmony singing and larking about. And the people I'm working with are all good friends and excellent performers, which is a relief. They've cast pretty much the same as I would have done so I'm confident it will be a good show. Rehearsals start next Friday, I may get a bit ahead by looking at the harmonies in advance, that will save time in rehearsal and my sister who is MD will probably expect me to sight read anyway.

I cut my skirt out and got it tacked together last night, it will need a fair amount of fitting before it gets machined. I think the shape will hang well and I'm happy with it so far, there are quite a few offcuts which may go into the weaving project plus some larger pieces which are tempting me to think of a matching waistcoat. I'll get this out of the way first, it shouldn't be difficult. I'll buy a zip tomorrow and some suitable coloured cotton.

Maggie, good to hear your hand is better. I worry about arthritis too, my grandmother was crippled with it. Maybe you could use the memory mattress on a spare room bed when you have a new place of your own. Have fun with the sisters.

Barrie, Leon is far to lovable for me to be cross with him for long. He has a preference for people food too, when we were walking him home through the park we passed a young couple sitting on a bench eating fish and chips - Leon immediately sat down in front of them in the hope of getting some. That silver order will make a big hole in the bank, but you can't make without materials.

Pam, I hope you are feeling better, you sound like you've got really run down.

Gwen, hope you and Deb have a good time. Leon does still like to chew, we buy him big hide chews which keep him busy for ages, and he brings home sticks which he reduces to splinters. I think the shoe thing is more mischief than anything, he will often fetch something he knows he shouldn't have just to get attention. Last ngiht I packed all my shoes into zip up storage bags so he can't do it again. Congrats on the bead sales, and great news that you are happy with the new torch.

Rita, do you prefer doing the printing or antique work? Congrats on the sales, was that from your display cabinet?

Fiona, it must be good to be home and away from the cold and snow. No more winter woollies now, what a lovely thought. I can't believe that tap thing is still not sorted, it has been going on for ages.

Dawn, that bead liner is a bargain, new toys are always fun. You sound like you have been doing too much, hope the craft sale is a success. I don't know what is usually asked in these interviews, things like "what is the first piece of art you remember seeing", and "who would you like to be when you grow up"?

Andee, that bp is nearly half what it should be, that can't be right.

hi guys, I'm not doing a very good job keeping up. I'm sorry. Next week should be better.

Dawn, thank you for starting the interview processes!

I'm back from doing 5 of the flowers for the school auction project. The rest will have to wait until the week after next when the kids are back from vacation. Just found out that the second grade play is also garden themed - some gnomes in a woodland garden or something. Luke is Hoot Owl.

Ok, well I've got two hours, I'm going to take some more advil and go sit in front of my torch and see if I can't make SOMETHING.

xoxo

hiya, everyone!

fiona, great to have you back again! i'm sure you're very glad to be back home - what a nice surprise from your hubby!

gwen, i hope you haven't had to go without water for very long. it's amazing how much we rely on things that we don't really think about until they're gone.

rita, congrats on your sale! i know how terrific that feels, i remember my first bead sale. it was on ebay, and i just about came out of my chair when i saw that someone had actually bid on my beads. i'm sure this will be the first of many more for you!

dawn, good news about the bead liner but oh, that headache! i sure hope you get rid of it pronto! it sounds like it was just awful.

pam, i hope you start feeling better soon! and andee, i sure hope you can get those meds straightened out. tripling the dosage just sounded like too radical a change to make in one step. doctors... can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

claire, great news about getting that part! sounds like you're making great progress on the skirt. ah, leon and the shoe... my peanut dragged a shoe out of my closet once and brought it out under the coffee table in the family room. she chewed it up there - maybe she figured if it was under the table we wouldn't find it. she went after a few other shoes in the same way over time, so i decided to be more careful about closing my closet doors all the time. i hung on to the first shoe that she chewed up and whenever i forgot to close the closet door, that's the shoe that she'd always drag out. gosh, she hasn't chewed anything up in ages - now she goes around the house and empties out all the waste baskets.

maggie, glad your hand is better - that sounded pretty nasty. hope you're having a fun day with your sisters! if you are a coffee person and you haven't done so already, you just have to try Trader Joe's Cookies With Perks. i'm totally addicted to those!

barrie, hope you got all those proposals finished!

hi angela and cheryl and everyone else i may have missed!

i've fallen behind here again - haven't been able to read up on all the WIA's i've missed. i've been busy trying to get ready for the show coming up at the end of this month. i'm also trying to build a necklace to donate to BAGI where I teach. they have an annual Great Glass Auction as a fundraiser, since they're a non-profit organization. i made beads for the necklace over the weekend, now i just have to figure out how i'm going to assemble it. deadline was supposed to be today but several artists are late so they're going to have another photo session for those of us who missed today.

gotta run - that necklace is calling me. see y'all later!

Shirley, I just looked at the BAGI site and see I cannot afford to attend the auction dinner, but also saw the Third Thursday deal. Do you go to those? Why was Feb's last night, the second Thursday? Let me know if you go and I'll join you and your BAGI friends. I am more of a tea person, but will look for those next time. We skipped TJ today, too tired and hungry at the time.

Pam, The project is looking so wonderful! I love that house way up high. I want to hear those kids tell the story about what they did and why.

Clarie, I have nothing going on this Friday either. Glad you got the part you wanted and it seems this will be a pleasant show to be a part of. I love listening to the way you talk about the makings of your clothes. Reminds me of times past and the way it should be.

Dawn, That was a great deal on the liner. I've thought of buying one by Jim Moore, know there are cheap ones now, but wonder how much I would use it. I LOVE the look of lined and capped beads, but know there is great expense in it also. Guess copper isn't so bad.

Rita, I'm sure your package is there. Mallory and Trish both got theirs.

Pam, Did you get your Love box?

Andee, I hope you are able to truly rest this weekend. It's time for you to start feeling better.

Barrie, It seems you barely finish your show and have to start right back up again. I like seeing things from that point of view, knowing the behind the scenes of putting on a show.

Gwen, I hope you have water by now. How did those people way back do it without water and electricity? They didn't know any different, but I sure love those two modern conveniences. Thinking water is more important to me, unless there's no way to heat my house.

Fiona, Welcome back home and to us after a long absence. Yes, dh must have missed you madly to come for you at the airport. Hope the working on house projects doesn't go on forever and you can get settled in and breath a little.

So tired today, not sure why as I have been sleeping well. Just did the shopping, hanging out, mailing my One World give aways. Thought about heating up the kiln, but I am too tired. Maybe I will work on a piece of jewelry later.

Hi all. Had a good day with Deb and she says she learned a lot! I'm not sure how. She wanted to see how to plunge a dot or flower center and get that cute little bubble. My flowers were the pits but the bubble were cute as can be! LOL We did a southwest colors bead and made a fish and a shell. Couldn't get her to try one but she said she was going home and getting on the torch! Also, she put me in touch with a fellow that refurbishes the oxy cons and he said he would sell me an Invacare for $150! Wish I had known about him when I bought my first on!! I think I'll go ahead and get it so that way I can have the extra oxy should I need it. Right now I don't feel like I do but I'm pushing the max out of my oxy con on the mini so I think a second one would be a good idea, especially at that price!

Our water came back right about 9:00pm so that was a good thing. If we had known it was going off we could have filled up containers but this caught us completely off guard. Just one more reason why we need an alternative water source our here in the boonies!

Maggie, sometimes running those errands is more tiring than working a full day. Your necklace with your spirals was so pretty. I don't think I ever told you. I should make my mother something like that as I think she would really like the style. When I was small we didn't have indoor plumbing and my grandparents didn't have indoor plumbing and water until I was around 13. My grandad drew buckets of water from their well for all the washing and cooking. We did have electric lights and a radio. Norm had to haul water even after he was a teenager. It's sure not an easy way to live and I wouldn't want to go back to it.

Dawn, what a deal on the bead liner! Do you think you will use it that much? I have never tried lining the beads as the tubing is so expensive. I think I would have to use copper to be able to afford it. I do like the looks of them but wonder if folks are willing to pay the extra for it. Let us know how you like it. Hope the headache has gone and doesn't come back. It is miserable working with a headache like that!

Pam, I'm loving the new auction painting. Will you be telling the kids stories on your blog? Is Luke out on "spring" break already?

Claire, sounds like you are making fast work of the new skirt and enough material to do up a jacket too! Great news that you got the part you wanted! Sounds like a fun play. Hooray for a "no plans" evening!

Shirley, I have never been to a Trader Joe's! I think there is one in Albuquerque and will get my son to take me while I am there. Can't wait to see your new jewelry piece. Your vessels in your Etsy Store are beautiful!

Andee, I would say that blood pressure is a bit low!! Hope your doc can get it all sorted out. Too low is just as dangerous as too high! Take care my friend.

Barrie, my box arrived today! Can't wait to go through it piece by piece! Thanks so much! I saw few cat hairs but no other "critters" were included! LOL

Rita, hooray for your first sale. Sort of takes your breath away doesn't it! I think I almost fainted and still get a thrill when I see that notice from paypal! Here is a picture just for you! Can't believe I made these!! LOL

maggie, i don't know why BAGI had 3rd thursday last night. i was a bit surprised when i left there wednesday night and they were setting up all the chairs for the demo. i've never been to one of those - i've only been to a couple of freebies that the had on a sunday before they started 3rd thursday. if there's something coming up that you're interested in, let me know and i'll meet you down there!

gwen, thank you for your kind words!

i have a ? for you folks who are tending our WETsy team blog. i have some ideas about content and interview questions - should i send a PM so someone or should i post my stuff here or in a separate or other thread? let me know and i'll spew out the info that's in my head. (eewwww....)

Claire - congrats on the part you wanted. Hope you had a nice relaxing evening in.

Shirley - I hope your necklace came together for you. Please PM me with your interview suggestions. I'm working on questions now.

Maggie - I don't know how often I'll use it but it has to be more than I do now! I hate lining beads by hand. I do like the copper tubing as well.

Gwen - LOVE those beads! Not sure how often I'll use the bead liner. Probably should have passed on it but I'm a sucker for a deal. I like copper and still have a bunch of silver tubing from when I tried to do it by hand.

Pam - hope you can slow down and relax next week!

I'm in need of a vacation! I feel like I've been going 90 miles an hour for weeks now. I made my first big blunder this past week. I spaced my kindergarten volunteer day. I realized it the next evening and said something out loud while we were watching a movie. This caused Chase to cry for an hour which, in turn, caused me to cry. I really thought that Blackberry was supposed to keep me on track!

Okay gotta get to bed. Hugs all around.

Maggie I got my box! Thank you, I love everything in it, especially your bird. And my heart punch. And Rita's heart

Angela, I got my package from you too, thank you! have not had a chance to play with anything in there yet though.

Gwen, love the skulls and bones.

Dawn, bummer about missing it and Chase feeling so bad about it :(

hello to everyone I missed. I'm off to put the kiddo to bed and then myself.

dawn, i sent you a PM! sorry it took me so long, i was bending wire for my new necklace. it's not done, but my fingers sure are. i'm not used to that stuff anymore!
