View Full Version : Portrait of Grt. Granddaughter

I finished my portrait of Grt. Granddaughter who just turned 17yrs....I painted her in PainterX. I used my paint bucket, air brush, conte brush. sponge brush and just add water blender. Sponge brush was just used for background.
Here are my steps.

Filled in back ground and face with paint bucket I decided to have the back ground dark, as her hair is light....Strawberry blonde

Painted in skin, shadows and worked on eyes, mouth ,nose and made hair dark .

More work on skin and shadowing, and defining the mouth, eyes, and starting to lighten hair

This is my final out come.......The actual size while painting is 300dpi..8x10 canvas. Resized for posting.

What a lovely looking girl your g/daughter is, :clap: :clap: other than a wee sharp edge on her chin she is perfect :thumbsup:

Very Nice!!!! Great work by a Great Grandmother!!!! This will be something she will cherish for a lifetime. If only we could stay that young. You've really captured so much more than a mere photograph....She is quite lovely....

What a beautiful great grand-daughter and a beautiful painting. You captured her likeness perfectly. She'll treasure it always.

She's beautifully painted! Thank you for the steps and brushes. I find that very helpful.

I'd not thought of filling in the basic skin color with the bucket tool. That's an Ah-Ha for me!

Thank you Jean, dMLEE, Kenny, Sue, Barb and Gray for your kindly comments... She is a beautiful person.Going to collage in fall to study Journlism.
I'm starting one of her sister Bekah with her cello. She is 15 yrs.. My granddaughter has 6 children. So will do them all. Of course I got more grt. grandkids...15 in all..I have already done some of them I posted here awhile a go, maby 2 yrs ago. They change though.

Ps.. On my original one I'm giving..I did sign my name with pen, not using the computer generated one as seen here. My hubby told me its more better to sign with own signiture. Especially giving to family. Although the computer one is much neater than my own:D
