View Full Version : Lone Wolf

I enjoyed painting the wolves (http://wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=533216) so much; I started this portrait of a Lone Wolf its one from the RIL (reference Image Library) here on WC. Iíll be doing my usual colour manipulation and adding darker shadows to give more interest in the contrast. The BG maybe falling snow I'm still unsure so that might change.
I've alway have a problem uploading my images, I upload as normal but must copy the image from the upload box then click on it and then past here. Which produces the image on the first posting then links on the rest, why?

I know that there is the compulsion to produce finished work - but I find this sort of stage of a painting such an interesting image and would really be happy to see something like this on a wall - but that said I am looking forward to watching it develop because I really like your end results

Thanks Ceiliog, You have hit on something here, I could paint just in one session and produce something I really like, but that urge to keep detailing more is just to controlling. Even finish my works I look at and see more I would like to add. Itís an addiction which is frustrating to control.
We all have it in different levels, I notice quite a few saying ďI think Iíll call this finished but my tweak it laterĒ I do all the time.

I have finished the furring to the point where I leave it to dry ready for the tweaking of the high lights and darks of the fur detail.

If you click on the aviator name (mine is art4us) normally top left corner of thread , a drop down list appears click on ďall threads start by art4usĒ youíll see all past postings. It a great way of checking out other artist work from the past and youíll see how they have improved too.
Back to Loan Wolf, Iíve added a bit more shadow and the snow flakes, on Iíve forgot his whiskers.

Nice work! I like the reflected colours in his fur.
Did you ever sort out your picture uploading problem?
01-27-2009, 08:03 AM
Thanks Ian & Donna, nice comments coming from such talents as you both.
Donna: uploading problem? Not really, my upload problem started when I got windows Vista. The normal procedure on WC upload system in advance section is: 1, I click on the picture icon. 2, A box appears then I click browse and upload and the picture appears in this box. 3, Next I click the picture for the upload to complete and nothing appears in the thread. (Problem), So when the picture appears in the box I highlight it and copy, then click the picture and when in does not appear in the thread box I right click to paste and a link appears, which works. The weird thing is the first time an image appears but then after is just links.
