This is my latest bit of illustration work. It's about 6 1/2" x 6 1/2", Prismacolor & Polychromos pencil on Bristol Plate-

Part of a big project I'm working on... something to keep me busy for a few months :)

Andrew this is one of my faves of yours - absolutely knocked out by the way that you have captured the metalic look of the red here

Andrew, he is absolutely beautiful. The work on his head is beyond outstanding. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the flank. It is such a hard line and fairly straight. They do have a rounded little "belly" area there, but it might be a bit softer flowing into the tail area. Other than that I think this is your best piece ever. What project are you working on? Sounds interesting to me!

Thanks. He was a fun one! They are one of my favorite backyard visitors, I miss them this time of the year when they are wintering in the tropics!

The red has a bit more 'glow' to it in real life- I was worried that it didn't scan too well! It actually looks a little better in real life...
