Back with the prehistoric wildlife:) Corythosaurus is probably my favorite dinosaur so I thought I should paint it. The scene is a Late Cretaceous evening. I'm trying to keep the colors muted and everything dark to really make it feel like night is on its way.
Its being painted in acrylics on canvas. I'll put up more as I finish it if anyone is interested. Not the typical wildlife art that is shown here, I know:)
I'll put this little fox painting up that I finished awhile ago. I don't know if I showed it here or not. This one is an oil and is small, I think 8x10 or something. My oils are a little more on the impressionist side and acrylics more abstractish.
Anyway, take care everyone!!

Omg Omg Omg! Not one but two new Angie paintings? I may faint from excitement. No disappointment here! I love how you incorporated slyly some of the bright colors from the fox into the background, and your corythosaurus...I probably butchered that...is awesome looking so far, it is different from your usual but still speaks you! More please?

Thank you Malcolm, Dave and Hunermend! I'm glad you like the little fox and the Corythosaurus:) I much appreciate your comments...
Here is another update on the Corythosaurus painting. I got a lot done today and am happy with it so far. I've kept it dark and muted. I'm adding more detail and correcting the anatomy of the Cory as I go. The back part of him will be in darkness, kind of like he is stepping into the rising moonlight.
I'm glad there is a few others here that like paleoart! I'll post more updates soon:) Thanks again for looking and your comments!
Take good care

Angie, your back ground is making this painting. Tying the tones together and the awkward movement is working great. Anticipating the finish.
