View Full Version : Sealants

The works I've been doing contain a great deal of pure titanium white, (I guess what I'm doing might be called Op Expressionism) and I'm not sure what my best bet is going to be as far as preserving sealants is concerned. I know sealants change the luminesence of the painting, and if anything, I want to play down the luminesence.
thanks again guys

When I want to seal without sheen I find that Krylon Matte Sealer does a good job. Probably are others too. I hope some of the experienced artists will help on this question. I'd like to hear what options there are.

Matte varnish, lightly buffed bees wax, even matte polyurethane will work. I see no legitimate need to varnish acrylics, but it seems to make people happy to think they have some magic armor on their purchase.
An arylic film is pretty durable and should be easy enough to clean even when left unvarnished.
