This is a pastel painting I did last year. It was highly commended in a Paint A Wildlife Subject (P.A.W.S).
I used Langton's 140lbs acid free watercolour paper.
I applied watercolour washes for the base, using several washes for the dark areas, then applied pastels, building up in layers, using pastel pencils for the fine details. Some detail has been lost in the downsizing.
