I heard that the a large group of white pelicans was feeding on the fish just stocked at a nearby pond, but when I arrived, most of them had gone.

There were, as usual, hundreds of ducks, but I have plenty of pics of them.

That left only the large white geese. I really like images with complementary colors, so the bright orange against the blue water looked good to me. And I think these geese have a rather interesting eye (pity I didn't do it justice in this shot). I enjoy the challenge of trying to shoot white birds without blowing out the whites - managed that OK here, I think.

That's a lovely clear shot, Dave, colors are perfect.

Thanks Mary.

If you look closely, you'll see what appear to be teeth. I'm pretty sure they're not real teeth; probably an analagous structure made from tissue similar to the bill.

Dave, nicely composed and focused.

I enlarged your photo and they sure look like teeth to me! I think they have some ripping and sawing capabilities.

Thanks for the link to the article, Rich. Interesting.

Wilt, it took me too long to get it through my thick skull that when shooting something white, I'll get better results if I underexpose a fair amount. (I have 100s of blown shots to prove it.)
