Is this for an ArtistNation.com account? Can you give us some more info? How are you trying to upload your pages?

Remember to name your first page "index.html"
browsers always look for this page first,
Also start in your base directory with the index page,

check the names of your files. no spaces or special characters; especially slashes /

kptad, I don't use web express, but the program I have now creates a lot of files when I make a single page (graphics and all) so I first put a new folder on my desktop and name it "whateverpagename" that I am working on, then when I save my page...I put all the files into the folder so they are easy to find for uploading to the artistnation site. Your front page should be renamed index.html so it will open automatically when you put in your addy.

Hope this helps you some, carly

Putting all the files in a single folder facilitates linking graphics and html pages together. If you link across drives or directories on your computer, the links probably won't work once they are uploaded.

If you do want to use separate folders then set up exactly the same directory of folders on your hard drive, links will then work for images etc,
Rod.

P.S. Have you had any success.

I used Web Express for quite some time. I never had any trouble with it, but then I didn't use their "automatic deployment" feature, either. If you know where your html files and images are on your hard drive, you might want to ftp them up to your site using a simple program like WS-FTP. That's the way I worked it, and everything clicked.

Note: one day Web Express just stopped working on my computer. Got errors every time I tried to start it. So I deleted it. Maybe I'll reinstall from the CD one day. I started using HomeSite, which is much more nuts and bolts, but I wouldn't recommend this dog of a program to anyone. The older versions were good (I'm told), but the 4.5 issue is full of bugs. Don't buy it. Anyone.

Anyway...just save your Web Express html files to disk (plus your image files, of course), then upload them with an FTP program. It's simpler that way.

Note about directories: Unless you have a pretty complicated site, it's usually better to have one big folder for everything, images, pages, and style sheet (if you use one).

Keep in mind, that ArtistNation doesn't yet support ftp uploading (soon, but not yet).

For now, you can upload manually via the file manager tool.

Cheers.
