This is my second oil painting. It is a homework exercise for a class in oil painting. I thought I'd post it here to ask for some CC&C. There are a few areas where I've got more work to do, but I need to give it some drying time. What do you think? Thanks for looking!

Thanks very much! I'm enjoying oils as much as I did watercolours and a little more than acrylics. (no offense to all the acrylic artists out there) Though, I'll need to develop more patience for the drying cycle. :D

Rather wonderful piece isn't it! :)
I have an issue with the wall shadow of the square tall vase - if you check your reference and I am wrong, dont tell me - my ego is fragile! ROFLOL.
Go those oils - once you have been with them, nothing else can compare.

That was indeed one of the areas that needed additional work. The shadow of the large vase needs to be shrunk somewhat, and I'll remove some minor distractions in the background at the same time. The fruit shadow also needs to be lengthened a touch.
The other area that needs more work is the highlights. I'll tone down the highlights that are on the further away objects a bit, and shift the location of the main highlight on the teapot a bit.
Are paintings ever done?
