I am looking for help. Most ultra realist painters use out of focus backgrounds, like photographs. Do they all use airbrushes? or can anyone tell me how they achieve this. I have used scummbling but without the same results. I dont want to change my style but I am always looking to learn. The best I have achieved so far is taking my glasses off and it does look out of focus then.
thank you

Ian, try posting in the forum below this project thing, that's where we hang out.
As for your question, an airbrush works, but so does a fan brush, wet into wet paint or if using acrylic, thining to watercolor and blending with glaze extenders..If you want to keep track of a thread and be notified of new replies, when you are typing your message, scroll down below that box until you see the "thread subscription box" then drop down the menu and select instant email notification
