Been dying to try pastels. This is my first attempt.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Do I have the idea....I'm still trying to figure this out...
I find it SO difficult for some reason....

you have the idea for chalk pastel, for oil I would want to see more pigment.

ya, I think there would be a LOT more pigment in oil pastels....I like this new material for me...I like the softness but I want to explore the layer building that can be done.....like dj does....

Pam, I think you're on to a great start! I've been playing with pastels too and find them difficult, yet fun and easy at the same time!:p weird........

i really like your drawing; it has great form and colour, the bottle transparency is great :)
do the pears seem to float a little?

Definitely getting there for first pastel.
I would like to see more depth though

Very nice, composition is good. I agree with ronaldb that the pairs seam to float. I believe the middle pair should be lower if it's sitting in front of the jar. Love the paper you've used :D
