View Full Version : snow lines- a REAL WIP!!!

Ok..this time I MADE SURE to take more photos (also for my own benefit). Being a self-taught painter means a LOT of trial and error, so I like to learn from my good mistakes! here is a progression..I'm ALMOST done, need to touch up the sun part and maybe add a few horizontal shadows...but I'll post when I'm done! this one is 36x24 on gallery wrapped canvas and YES, that's my kitchen wall behind it...good thing my husband lets me paint right against the wall AND that he doesn't really know how many nail holes are BEHIND the canvas!! hee hee hee.....c/c already welcome!

I think youve handled this wonderfully. love the play of the shadows, really nice work!!!! If you just leave it hang there he will never know.............

Fabulous so far.. I know what you mean being self taught myself too.. Good to post a wip more eyes help you see what we missed. Keep up the good work.

Very nice... any chance of seeing at least the last one a little bigger? And that's a good sized piece, too!

I love the blues in the long shadows. I liked it at the fifth stage where it had a strong impressionist feel, but the final is beautiful.

Really nice, indeed. The perspective is fabulous. The shadows are excellent.

personally i will look forward to more snow paintings, wehave had snow here one time in my 40+ years

I love this, I can feel the chill in the air an the warmth of the sun :thumbsup:

thank you all SO much! I was happy to share a real WIP (ie. more than 2 steps, start and finish!)....I'm starting another one, NOT snow this time, but I'll try to photograph it too!!
