24x24", acrylic on canvas. Watching the John Hammond video I learned he uses no water, only gloss medium. And he mixes it in everything, almost. Semi-transparent to semi-opaque mostly so the under wash shows through. I tried that here with matt medium.

I like this VERY much! Fabulous water colours - unexpected, but right on the mark. The glow from the orange underpaint is brilliant. Besides that, the lighting & comp work beautifully. I would hang this painting on my wall in a minute!

Beautiful colors in the water!! Done Exceptionaly well!! Love this!
Maybe its me, but the fishing rod in the figure on the right looks kinda bent over in his hand from the reel under his hand. Maybe if his hand extended down a little would fix that.

The water looks great..as does it all :)
I have the John Hammond video and his book both are fantastic, I've lost count of the times I've watched the video now, his style is great.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. And thanks to John Hammond for sharing his techniques and secrets. I'll be painting this way henceforth, after thirty years of mixing water with my acrylics!

I know from personal experience that getting sunset colors on water is not all that easy to carry off well. You've really mixed some brilliant colors and made this scene come alive rather than just another two men in a boat scene. Lovely painting.
