18 x 24 canvas. I wanted to paint my favourite instrument, the cuatro, in a landscape. Intially it was going to be grounded on some rocks but, after I painted it I just loved how it seemed to float on the canvas and will leave it alone. The bird helped convey the sense of flight. C & C's welcome.................

I personally would like to see a little more definition on the headstock. Everything else looks great to me. Love your clouds, sky, bird, water and the rest of the cuatro!

All it needs is a tiny set of wings! I like it!

Beautiful. The instrument looks like it is soaring.

Very neat, I like it a lot. I actually thought it would be awesome to have some lyrics written into the water to the left of the guitar :)

New idea and nice composition. You perhaps should have named it 'The Flying Cuatro'

Very nice work, though I can't help feeling that the cuatro should be closer to the center.

I like the idea of some little wings and maybe some lyrics or notes something to keep pulling your eye thru the painting. It would have an even more feeling of sureal. And I like sureal a lot. Good job

Ah so glad to see the guitar back in action. I like the simplicity of this. I can hear you strumming away.

Thanx all for your comments and input on this piece! I remember when I first started here and submitted a similiar piece of a "floating cuatro", I recall one comment " It's not grounded , it's just there,,,". After a year and a half I tried it again. There's a lot of negative space on this painting and maybe one day, when I run out of canvases again, I'll add something I wanted to try there. A musician reaching for the cuatro, well, flying towards the instrument...more symbolic then anything else. I still love the way this looks IRL. The cuatro is the national instrument here in PR and usually sell well. But this one is for me..............TJ
