I'm in progress with this sunrise from a photo I took during the sunrise on Wells Beach in Maine this summer. The display on clear mornings is always a surprise of colors, and on this day, a spectacular show of blues, pinks and purples. Still have straighten many of my "lines" and probably simplify the major cloud, but thought I'd show where I am. Size 24x36 on gallery wrapped canvas. C/c always welcome and appreciated!

Hi. Holly. I agree with Elizabeth. The clouds are fabulous just the way they are. Terrific.
Wonderful colours and sky.

thank you all for your comments..ok, maybe I'll minimally 'tweak' the larger cloud? In the original photo, it's actually a smaller series of clouds across the horizon and somehow here they morphed into one! I'll post the final when I finish!

I hope you don't change it too much, as it is already beautiful.

It reminds me of a poem by Longfellow...
I heard the distant waters dash,
I saw the current whirl and flash,
And richly, by the blue lake's silver beach,
The woods were bending with a silent reach.
Then o'er the vale, with gentle swell,
The music of the village bell...
This painting has said many things more than you wanted to depict. I think I can hear the 'village bells' in your painting. nice composition.
