Looks like some really good textures there but it is very dark and difficult to see - looks like a bird on a tree branch and I am sure once it is a little more lit up, it will look great.

Looks great. I really like the look of the bird. Where did the foil end up?

this is great!! I think the background top is a tad bit too dark.. the dark part of the cardinal is blending in the dark folage. Lighter tones on both would realy make him pop out!

I really like this, but the way I am reading it, is the bird is in front of the branch...not really on it. I love the textures but the way the bird is doesn't seem right.

Looks good but the opposite colors (green and red) both being almost the same darkness (background and bird) it sort of gets lost.
I am adding a greyscale to show you the contrast.
Maybe make the background a lighter shade or the bird to make one stand out more if thats what your after.
I also did a crappy contrast on the colors (background) I am work and they don't allow photoshop so I did what I could with what I got here lol.
It does look good though :)

 Hi Mz!

It IS working, in my opinion. The background has a beautiful spontaneity to it. You have such a great natural ability for drama and interest in your work. If I would make a suggestion, it would be to take your most prominent flick of light and move it just behind the bird. It would illuminate just enough of it to make it the focal. :D
