Hi,
I usually oil paint and have "played" around with acrylics but don't know much about them. I looked into acrylics from when i saw Jonas Gerards paintings. Then i wanted to try the style, and needed acrylics.
I would like to know the rules, techniques, difference between different types of acrylic paint, ect..
Are there any good websites that have articles on this, or books. Right now im looking into abstract acrylic painting... such as the style of Jonas Gerard.
Any help would be great!

You might want to try the "Search" button above.
Try entering "Starting Acrylics" or something of that ilk.
There are some wonderful threads begun by our members, that are quite intensive.
Welcome to the Acrylics forum, and I hope you have a good time with us.
We are a friendly group that are always ready to assist each other.

Hey Chris, I am pretty new to acrylics too and what I found helpful was actually looking up how-to videos on YouTube. Of course they don't have everything and that is why I love going to the Information Kiosk section. --> http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=329
My favorite article has been "A Guide To Starting Acrylics" -->
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Articles2/25905/538/
There is also a list of great guide/articles located here. -->

I hope this helps =)

If you can get "Acrylic Revolution" by Nancy Reynor from the library it is a great book with lots of info about how acrylics work and all the really neat things you can do with them.

Welcome to our corner of the web, I'm happy you came by and hope you hang around. :)

Hi Chris,

welcome aboard. be sure to find a class or an experienced acrylic painter in
your local area you an talk to face to face. in my experience nothing is better than one to one interaction. congratulations on having one of your paintings hanging at the State Capitol. post a painting here as soon as you're ready. you will be helped a lot.
