Hi everyone! I am sorry that I can't send a better picture.(need to invest in a better camera, but art supplies come first!) I have just finished (?) this piece on a 16" x 20" canvas. I painted the entire canvas black..then applied contact paper to form an oval shape which was removed after. It is hard to tell by this picture but I have left the path a pure black so that it would appear to flow on into the border. Can I get away with this? I would appreciate your general comments as well. Don't worry about being kind..I know I have broken a few rules here.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/28-Aug-2008/91123-Birch_Haven___M5.jpg

Nice job with this..I think my favorite element would be the birch trees that are right in your face! Not so sure Im stuck on the purple trees in the background but they do kinda grow on you dont they!!! Overall a great job!!!!!!!

Molly, I think it's GREAT! Then again, I've broken a few rules myself from time to time. Just to nitpick, the lighter grass around the base of the birches would probably be in shadow in front of the trees, if your light source is center/back.

Thank you Bizkit, Kathie and Angela! Yes, I was going to change those purple trees, but as you said, Bizkit, the more I looked at them, they DID grow on me! You are right Angela..I shall set about putting some shade there! What would I ever do without all you wonderful people!
