The first project is almost finished and we need to start the next one. Please post your ideas to this message thread and lets come up with a good project 2. The project will begin 2-15-00. If you have a reference photo that you think would be good for the group to use, provide us with a link to your photo or mail it to me and I will send it back out to the chatters mailing list. It could become our next project. Rod and Randy will choose this next project and announce their choice by 2-14-00 they will set the rules and tell us how much time we will have to complete the project.

Of course I also liked the idea of letting each artist choose an Old Master painting to copy. The artist is not to reveal which painting they are copying. Then when all the art work is submitted, we try to guess what painting the WetCanvas Chatter copied. We give everyone an award so they can use the award on their resume. Or, maybe one of our sponsors will send us a tube of paint. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif This would be a good learning lesson both ways...art history, appreciation and painting. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

I liked the idea that was brought out that everyone work in one "style"..most seemed to like impressionism for the first style to try..
The subject would be from a current photo, still to be chosen, for reference.
This would not be a copy of a masters work.
I like the free tube of paint idea http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Whatever angle is taken, I'd like to further incent the group by offering to publish any tutorials or lessons that might arise. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

For example. you might take step-by-step photos of the piece, and document your thoughts and techniques along the way. We'll publish them in ArtSchool! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cheers.
