Hi, everyone! I haven't posted in a while, been too busy to do much painting, although I'm happy to say I've sold a few on eBay and Etsy (and I've spent what little spare time I had wrapping and shipping paintings...my LEAST favorite part of the process!). I've had houseguests for two weeks now (daughter-in-law, four-year-old, and month-old baby, plus my son on weekends when he's home from driving truck), so painting has had to take a backseat, because I've spent most of my time driving her around (she doesn't drive), trying to find an apartment. It's been pretty intense, but they finally located a little house, so they'll be moving out of my house on Sunday or Monday. Maybe then I'll get some painting time. Or at least some breathing time! And my marriage might even actually survive the ordeal...
Here's my most recent, one I did a couple weeks ago. Warning: if you hate green, don't look any further!

Great Laurie! Congratulations on the eBay Etsy sales! Must be hard to part with them! This is very, very beautiful. Love the extreme difference between the light and shade on the house. Great composition too.

I love green, and that's a great house. Looks crooked though, I hope that's just the photo.

Meant to say "Beautiful" :-) not whatever it came up as....
Another awesome one Laurie! I love the green, especially multi shades of it. I hope you are able to settle back in front of your easel in short order. I always look forward to another Breton painting!

Laurie - This is another winner! Has the strength and simplicity of a Fairfield Porter Architectural Landscape. What is the size?? By the way, welcome back!!

Thanks, everyone! Steve, it's 16x20, I forgot to say in my original posting.
I feel as though I've been away forever. The site went down for a week, and then before I could get back into the swing of things, life started to get hectic at home, and I haven't had time to do much of anything since then. Right now, I'm working on a commissioned house portrait I just started, I've been trying to get to it for a week. And I have another one waiting in the wings. I'm eager to get them both finished so I can get back to painting what I WANT to paint. Now that the kids have found a place to live and I'm not driving my daughter-in-law around to look at apartments or scouring Craigslist with her, I've found it's actually possible to paint with a four-year-old standing by making editorial comments and asking questions. My routine has been so destroyed, yet when they're gone and settled into their new home, I know I'll miss them. Well, I won't miss the baby projectile-vomiting at least twice a day (he has reflux, the doctor says), but I will miss cuddling him and getting the occasional smile out of him (most of his smiles are reserved for Mommy, but Grammy's gotten one or two of them).
What is it they say? Life is what happens while you're making other plans?

I don't hate green, but even if I did, I wud have fallen in love with its opulence in this painting.
