24" x 36" I have been having such a complete lack of inspiration these days. Got through this one out of sheer determination. Still in a strange funk. Anyhoo, C&C away folks. I need a kick in the rump to get out of this funk. (My apologies to Longfellow.)
Sorry folks, tried to enlarge the photo in a program I have and trashed it. Have to retake it. will be back shortly.

24" X 36" acrylic on canvas. Inspiration has been lacking of late. What I really need are some good C&C's to kick my rump out of this funk.

Well, George...if I could paint like you do...WOW...I sure would be happy. This makes me long to go and sit on that big rock near the center of the point and stare, daydream, and maybe drop in a line and see if I coud catch something....but mostly just look at the beauty! If it is criticism you want, you will have to wait for someone else.

That color just pops! I like how if fades in the distance. Very beautiful. So big! I just bought a canvas that size, myself. It'll be my biggest, yet, though I don't know when I'll get around to it. :)

Well, I sympathise with your plight!
I'm struggling to get going again too - picked up a pencil and just couldn't do anything with it! Shall we kick each other ?
I'll be back with a magnifying glass! ;)

Found a great way to beat painters block. Try hand coloring/tinting black and white photos. It's fun and it gets you in the mood. No stress in it at all.

Since you asked, George, while this is indeed lovely, to my eyes the trees are a little too regularly shaped and colored, and I'm not fond of how the shape of the mountains parallels the tree line on the right. On the other hand, I am delighted by the water and the mid and foreground color and variety!

O.K. Charlies MUM I'll bend over first. I reposted it.
Interesting idea Artchrispy.

Yes, I can see that too to a degree. Regularity is an issue I am working on.
I need to sit back further from the canvas or move back more often. I have a tendency to get on a roll and not stop. Loosen up is the key. Glad you saw that. Thanks ever so much Amotwell

I just love all the colors George, Its Excellent!!
since you realy asked.. I would have if it was me now mind you... on the far banks at the waters edge used more browns then red, to me it stands out more then it should!! Maybe some more white ripples around the stones showing movement of the water around the rocks, I would think its a flowing stream the water looks like its just a windy sea.. but thats just me!!
It surely doesnt distract from the lovely trees, grasses,Great sky and Mountains.. wish my paintings were half this good!!!

 Hi George!

Sorry to hear about the funk. Your painting certainly doesn't show any kind of struggle though - it is such a beautiful scene and well painted. I do have a thought though and that is to perhaps consider "messing up" the river bank a bit. It almost appears man-made - too perfect. I do love the softness of the landscape and sky - it is lovely! :D

Glorious! Wow! ...I love the colours!..Can't extoll the virtues enough!

George, this is beautiful, the scene, the colors, awesome rocks and trees, but the mountains seem a bit too similar, if you know what I mean. I do not think it is bad though, just that would be the only change I would make with this. Lovely work, I bet it is gorgeous in person.
