My daughter and I did this painting today with acrylic, using a roller, palette knife, and the "flicking" technique. This was our first painting....EVER. We would love your feedback.

It has a very harmonious composition and works well as an abstract. Looks like you both had fun. Good work.

FIREWORKS!!! Its quite amazing that everyone sees something else. That must say alot for abstract painting! I like it very much.

I like it. It is very nicely balanced and pleasing to the eye. This is very hard to get with abstracts.
Welcome to the forum. There is lots to learn here, perhaps you should do more painting.

 I like it! It reminds me of a faux wall treatment or a really pretty wall paper design. You and your daughter did an excellent job on this! :D

Congrats on making a start to your artistic careers - both of you!
It's a very pleasant painting, so you've achieved quite a lot already!
How big is it and what's it painted on?
Welcome to the forum :D

This was originally a print of a city, which my husband gessoed over (several coats). It's about 24x48, and we bought it at a garage sale for $1 and gave it a "makeover". It was fun! We're working on another one, with my husband joining in on that work. (He's the real artist)

I answered the question about what this was painted on, and the size, but I don't see it posted here? We bought an older print from a garage sale for $1, took it home, and my husband gessoed over it. He then suggested we try something of our own on it. It is 2'x4'. Thanks for all your comments. It's nice to hear them from all around the world. What a cool website! Thanks all!
