I have done these three paintings during the last two weeks. I wanted to paint the several phases of a poppy. Painted on 40 x 30 cm canvas. C + C very appreciated.

These are beautiful!!! Very good detail and colour! In Canada poppies are very significant part of remembering our veterans on November the 11th!

....And show the three stages, you have.
They do look like botanical paintings....very delicate.

These are delightful and well done! I think the third is my favorite, although the left side stem looks a little wonky . . .

Hi Brigitte, all are lovely pieces. The middle is my favourite. I am curious about the funky stem in the third that follows the line of the petal. I know poppies do have stems like this but I think with a little bit of editing it would read better.

Thank to all your comments.

@ Kathie - 40 x 30 cm (about 17 ' x 12,5),

@ Angela and Carol - the flower had such a wonky stem which partially disappeared behind the foliage. Therefore the last part is a bit thicker. Maybe the difference is too little to be noticed. Would be grateful for suggestions of improvement.

LOL Soni, I just about typed the exact same thing you did. But I do like seeing the bloom in it's full glory the best.

Brigitte, I guess I would have let the top of the stem "hide" behind the petal or chosen a different angle, but since I can't see your reference, perhaps you did it perfectly!

Lovely work Brigitte, the middle one is my favorite also. It really pops!
