I wanted to do more musicians in a more pop art style. I used the same palette I used in the blues series just leaned heavily on the reds & yellows. I love the rather strident off kilter crop to this. This is pretty radical for me. It is also large!!
36" X 48" - yikes! you should see it IRL!
There are layers and layers to the red areas with tons of gloss medium and Hannsa yellow underneath.
Your comments are welcome.

Good Heavens Gayle, what can be said about your abilities with painting Musicians that has not been said already?
Wonderful?..... Nope been said
Colourful?...... Nope as above
Unusual, but it works?...Possibly hasn't been used yet!
I love it?......Many times said
I love the colours!......Heck everyone likes the colours!
So what to say to you that is new, and refreshing, and really tells you how good it is?
How about....."Hopefully, this will be another series?"
or................"Where on Earth do you get your references from?"........Thats new!
Hey there are only just so many words to tell you how your art pleases me.
So I will just say......
:music:"When you paint, I hear the music!":music:

Thanks so much Connie, Linda & Kathie. I'm glad you like it. It is different!
Kathleen - What a fun one you are! I have some professional photograoher friends and I have discovered that if you ask, you can get permission to use almost anything. Doesn't hurt to ask - especially on Flickr. Not sure it will be another series but I do want to work up the courage to do a large abstract....
