this is a bit too dark on my monitor, but from what i can see you have got great values and form. Are you able to lighten and re-post?? - or perhaps it's just me and my monitor!

that's better. Looks good too, I love the skin tones and you've done a great job on the beard and moustache! I'm wondering if his nose is long enough? Can't quite make out the bottom of it.
What size?
You should do more portraits, you've done well with this one.

12 x18 = size- i have to compare the nose to the photo

Nice piece. I like the color of his hat, and the touch of blue on his shoulder. His expression makes me wonder what he's thinking.

I wonder how long this took you to paint? The reason I ask is, it has such a fresh, spontaneous look to it. Very confident and not over done. It is something that I have aspired to but fail at regularly, :lol: !

I seriously think you should do more people or at the very least, incorporate them in your other paintings. This is really fine work! :thumbsup: :D

Edtree this one took about 5 hours- it would have been less if i had a hair dryer
but i did a lot of layering on this one which is why it took the 5
