I just LOVE the blues Dan! The 1st one is so full of atmosphere and color and the dragon is wonderful. I love the rocks in the second one. You do such a great job in conveying distance in all your paintings. As always, fabulous work!

Dan, both are beautiful but the bottom one sparkles for me with those rocks!

Hi Paula, thanks the dragon in the first takes over
that haze in the secon was lifting slowly
Hi Cindy the rocks had the colour that was missing from the sky

The blue tone of your work with the light spots sparkling give your work a very vivid impression.
Indeed very nice.

Not everyone can put that much blue in a painting and get away with it.

Great atmosphere, and sense of depth. Love the clear blue poking in at the top of the clouds.

These paintings are fabulous! You really make the most of your subject matter, and bring so much life and color into the scene. Thank you for sharing!

Oooo, the bits of purer colour in the first one really sparkle against the blues. That 'dragon' has a wonderful shape, begs to be painted.

Second one speaks less to me, but I can see it has a wonderful sense of depth.

Dan - fabulous sense of weather you've captured here. Got your paints ready? it's another award winning day!

What always impresses me are the accent colors that just sign in your pieces - like the oranges and yellows. How they really pop on the blue base. Keep it up!

I'm off to LaConner at the end of the week for 9 days with Richard McKinley. If you make it down at all - let me know before I leave on friday.

Cheers! Barb

Hi Dan, I love these paintings and really appreciate you showing the reference photos. I find myself trying to be too literal in my paintings and it really helps to see someone making the painting come to life using beautiful colors not just what the photo reference shows. Thanks for showing us your wonderful work. Terri

Hi Terri, thanks, I try to remember the painting is the thing
