I did this over a year ago and it is still one of my favourite paintings. I've done much more complicated set-ups but it is the simplicity of this one that I love.

7.5 x 11 on La Carte C & C welcome and appreciated!

Holy smokes that is gorgeous!
Did you photograph this arrangement on your dining room table? I wish I had your dining room table...well, and your talent too would be helpful!

We are too hot to do much of anything here although I did go over to ride and take care of the horses at 6 this morning (Ruth is away)...nice time of the day for a ride.
I think I finished the workshop painting and will post it here soon. I'm so hot the thought of even picking up the camera seems like too much effort. Oh well, it is summer in the Okanagan after all...

Beautiful, stunningly beautiful, painting my friend.
Cheers,
Susan

Beautiful painting Dianna. I love the reflection. You are a Canadian treasure and one day I hope I can take one of your workshops. I always look forward to seeing your paintings. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Dianna! I really like the abstract qualities to this that I see. The color of the table line on the left side is so great, as is the white edge of the big apple where it's been cut.

The only small piece that makes me pause is the white highlight in the middle of the dark shadow on the large apple (right side, bottom highlight). I feel like an idiot saying that because your work is so superb, but....there it is.

:) You are absolutely right Cindy, that could be toned down to something more closely resembling the colour of the slice it is reflecting.

Ida...yes this is on La Carte. It is the only paper I use...though I am always open to trying new surfaces....at least once.

Thank you ladies for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

Had a great Canada Day as well. Great temperature today eh? :)

I always take time to look this one over when coming to your workshops. It is so simple, but so striking.

I'll have to get some aluminum sheet. :D
