Just wanted to share another necklace that will be going to the Rosen Show this weekend. This one I really like! Heck, I'd even wear it. The focal bead is a new style for me. Etched dichroic that has been faceted. The remaining beads are amethyst and bali silver. The amethyst and the focal were just SCREAMING to be put together in a piece. I did share this piece in an early thread before this board took off. So if it's a repeat to you, I apologize.

Lauri, that is a beautiful necklace! I love the center bead ... can you tell me more about faceting (how it is done, etc.)? You have a good eye for color & balance.
And I love the other beads you posted too

I know there were several threads abou faceting on the old ISGB forum. Not sure what is going on w/ archives being transfered to the new site. Anyway, I purchased my flat lap grinder from eBay. You can buy them new through Arrow Springs. I start with a course grit wheel and work my way through until I finish with a polishing wheel. The entire process takes about thirty minutes for three windows.
Meesh you crack me up..and trades are always a good thing.

Lauri - how did you end up "finishing" this necklace (last post mentioned that we couldn't see the "ends" because it wasn't finished)? That focal goes perfectly with the amethyst. I can just hear it screaming...heavens, who taught it so say THAT!? B2Silly

Aw, Lauri - just when I finished wiping the drool off my monitor, you post this again.

Those are amazing!!!!! Your faceted beads outshine the gemstones but work so well together!
Thanks for sharing and you will rule the Rosen Show!!!
