Hello everyone! I finally got over here and checked out this forum. I haven't even scratched the surface yet, but what I've seen so far is really cool! It's nice to see some familiar names (and faces! yea! we can see faces!), as well a lots of new people. (New to me anyway!)

I absolutely LOVE seeing everyone's work! I also love the art projects idea. I'll participate in one of those soon.

Anyway... here's a picture of some of my beads. I work with Effetre on a HotHead with a bulk tank of Chemtane. I may upgrade someday, but since I bought a kiln, this is all I can afford at the moment!

okay, why did the url come up and not the image? i hit the IMG button in the vB code area and entered the URL. Do I have to actually upload a file using the attach file option below?

I'll try it this way...
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/15-Jul-2002/medblues_063002.jpg

I edited this message and used the image uploader instead of the attache file thing. Yea!!! It worked!!

Three ways for us to see an image.

If you click on the IMG button, be sure to leave the IMG tags in place. They will look like this... [ IMG ] http://....wherever you image is located... and the the end tag [/ IMG ] .... but this will only give you a link to your image...not the actual image.

Or use the attach image button at the bottom of your reply screen and find the image on your computer or disk... this is the easiest way in my opinion....

or use the image uploader from the top of the forum screen and browse to your image and be sure to copy and paste the complete information the system gives you... include the IMG tags.

Hope this helps a little. Can't wait to see!

Blush... edit to correct my gross error!

Thanks llis but I thought I did that! I'll try again.

I don't get it. It had the "[ img]" before and "[ /img]" after, but it still shows up as the URL. (Without the spaces, I couldn't show you the code if I didn't put in the spaces.

Also, two messages or so up, I attached the picture file, but it doesn't look like it did it. I'm really not a computer idiot, most of the time! :p

Whoops, my bad...

:)

If you use the IMG button, you will only make a link to your image.

Love your blue beads, BTW!

If I'm not mistaken.... and I often am..... when you use the attach file, or the uploader, the image has to be located on your computer hard drive or either a disk. Looks like you are using an image from a website. Don't know if this helps... but see if this is it.

Hi Patty! This place is unbeleivable. I try to say hi when I see someone new I "know" but I know I have missed a few! This place is so hopping and moving so fast I get dizzy sometimes. I haven't been keeping up with it all here, maybe after school starts for my boys in the fall I can do better. Well anyway, welcome Patty, you are one of these amazing hothead torchers... lot of them around I notice these days... Also hi to those I have missed lately! It is freaking hot and humid in Illinois BTW!

llis, when I tried to attach the file, it was from the hard drive, but it didn't work. But.... the image uploader did work. Whew!

Hi to everyone! Thanks so much for the nice comments. :D

Hi Patty,

I took it from your site, put it on my head drive, & then uploaded it...had to make it a little smaller first. Here's a link to a discussion we had recently about posting pics...hope it helps! :cat:

Welcome Patty, I always enjoy seeing your beads, and these are lovely!

The image uploading takes a little getting used to, as it's simpler than we expect, but once you catch on, you'll love it. (Just make sure the photo is no larger than 500 pixels in any direction)

Best, Valorie

Welcome to WC, Patty! I love those cool blues in the beads ... blue being one of my favorite colors.

Donna, I agree! I feel like I need to get on WC multiple times a day or be left in the d-u-s-t ! But it's great to have such an active, friendly, and helpful group ... I love it

Cheers,
Mary

((((BIG SOUTHERN HUG))))))))))
Love the blues! You will love it here.
If you haven't already figured the pic thing out.
Here is what I have learned, just the other day too.
You pic has to be or under 500x600
That is 500 side to side, and 600 up and down.
Your pic was over 500 wide. So reducing the whole image would work :)

:) :p :D Misty, you are too funny, startling yourself everytime you logged on. Peeeshaww I guess if I used my real tinyhead instead of my dog, I'd scare myself too!!!

Patty, you're beads are really pretty, remind me of shallow water over sand. Keep 'em coming!!!

Lenda, you mean that's not what you really look like?

Just when I was thinking you were just like Lady in Lady and the Tramp. :)

What is your dog's name? She's precious, or is it a he?

Hi Mom-wish I was as beautiful as my boy doggie named Tucker!!
Isn't he too much, has a personality to go along with his looks, my husband and I fight over bed space with him, king size bed no less, but Tucker wants all the pillows! Just a Pantene Pooch you know-He's 3 years old, everyone thinks he's still a pup.

Lenda:D

gotta find a real tinyhead so I can really test it out!!

Hi Patty, I nearly missed you:( very nice work,
The uploader is my favorite way to get an image from my hard-drive to WC. The image will then show up in the reply mode.

Wow! You guys are very friendly! And generous, too. I think I will like it here!

I'm going to try to get some torch time in tonight. Haven't been on for something like 2 months! Arrgh! Everyone keep your fingers crossed that I can actually do it!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

great set. i like nubbly beads! What kind of spacers are those? They look so nice!

rusticstudio
07-16-2002, 11:27 AM
Thanks Margaret. They're some silver plated spacers I bought from someone on eBay. I was a little disappointed that they were plastic instead of metal, but I guess you'd never know unless you picked them up.

hi patty! welcome to WC!

as for the pic thing- no matter what i try, i have not been able to get the 'attach file' thingy to work. my pictures are on my hard drive and smaller than 500 x 500, but they still won't show up. like mike e., i've had better luck with the image uploader- no problems there!

Hiya Patty - great to see you here on WC! Very nice beads, and I like your fur kid too!

What's with this 2 months thing? Make some beads, girl! Try some reduction frit while you're at it. ;)

That hothead was a terrible torch, I don't know how anybody uses it! I didn't like it at all, too slow for me. I so admire all the people that make such beautiful things on it, what a gift! I love the beads, those spacers are very cool, never seen any like them.

Patty......super blue beads. Shirley got me to try reduction frit also and let me tell you......it was an experience ! ! ! It has caught my attention though and I am still working with it. It's a whole/nother side of glass.

I'll get in the studio this evening. I swear! ;)

I am going to try reduction frit. I'll have to rig up the wire "screen" and try that on the hot head. I'm in the reduction frit exchange, so I sure hope it works!
