Here is a monotype I did about a month ago and it seems pretty fishy to me. Want to try another fish later this month that's a little more real fish. Love the Bosch! - Janet

Hi Janet, I love the motion in your monotype. Real misty underwater mood. It looks like a nice place to be on a hot day like today. :D

Isn't that Bosch a hoot! Thanks for the comment! Looking forward to seeing your other fish/es  Nickel

janet and nickel,,,,i think you both got the catch of the day:p great job!!! tyree

I love that Bosch flying fish too, Nickel. And,trafford, your monotype really captures the underwater movement of fish scurrying away.

Nickel - cool flying fish :)

trafford - great monotype :)

Ok here's the first thing I thought of .... astrology!
Sennelier oil pastels on 9x12" blue textured paper from an assorted pack.

June, your fishies are lovely.

Eyepaint, I almost forgot your neat astrology sign. Meant to answer when I first saw it then got derailed somewhere. Thumbs up.

EP your Pisces looks great! Love the intense color!

June, very nice, I like the action and color in your fishes!
Good direction of light!

June, Nickel, and trafford - thank you :)

June - love the softness in those fish fins and tails!

06-16-2008, 03:42 PM
Nickel - that looks Boschish......(I think Bosch would be a fun one to study in heritage, if I may say that here)

Trafford - interesting monotype, I like the one cruising by in the foreground minding his own business

Tyree - looking forward to your foray in scales

EP -nice form and motion, got alot said with the minimal colors - Caulderish fish

June - your love of animals even shows up under the surface!!!

Okay, I'm gonna try a quick print with speedy-cut.

Here's a quickie fishy in watercolour. I was trying out the effect of placing cling-film (plastic food wrap) over the colour to get a 'water' effect. It could be interesting to use in a full-blown water picture sometime.:)

BTW...many thanks for comments on my OP.

06-17-2008, 07:51 PM
The plastic wrap is a great idea for water. Very nice:clap:

Beautiful goldfish!

I love the warm color tones against the cools. :)
Nice texture too!

June - nice effect with the plastic wrap. the smaller fish blurryness/shadow looks so like water

Hello ladies .. I've tried and tried to put my fish drawing in , but I don't understand why I can't upload anything anymore !

Mony I am sorry about the uploader, keep trying, the site is still going through changes.

Your fish is very pretty! I love the peacefulness of the blue color.

Wow! At last I have succeeded in uploading the image of my coloured pencil goldfish on a turquoise pastel paper ! I'm afraid it is very very big though ...

07-04-2008, 06:28 PM
Hi Susan, I think your parrotfish is very good. The expression is wonderful! And I love the colors too!

Hi Mony! Look what you did!!!!
Yep I think you got a big fish picture here, lol, and it's just as pretty as it was before on your link. :)

I do know they are trying to give us bigger images with the site updates. I've read it will be 800 x800 pixles. Maybe they have changed it again?
Right now sometimes the uploader works, mostly it hasn't worked very well.

It's still good to see everyones fishes!!!! :) Nickel
