A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!
Title: End of the Day Beads
Project Leader: Laura Brito
Relative Difficulty: Easy
Type Restrictions: Glass
Medium: Other
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited
Description:
This is what I do with my scrap stringers, latticino and frit or shards of glass laying around on my workbench. I make sure these items are clean first. Then I form a core bead, if the pieces are real small I lay them on my graphite pad. I heat the bead and pick them up off the graphite pad and melt them in. If they are long enough I use my hands to attach the pieces and let the flame to melt it in all the way. These come out interesting and are fun to see!
Now let's see what you can come up with for your End Of the Day Beads.

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

What an interesting project! I never make end of the day beads. The things I have left over, I just put away until next time.

Same here, Elizabeth, except I never get them out and reuse them. So, now I have huge containers full of leftovers. I could make end of day beads for a month. May have to try that today! B2

You did a really good job! It is interesting to see the different effects you can get from using up scraps!

I make very small fish out of my leftover stringer. 3 or 4 2" stringers will usually do the trick.

I made some "end of the day" beads by winding leftover latticino pieces over a cylindrical bead. I had a blast making them! There's little consideration for color, so it was especially fun to randomly pick up pieces and add 'em on... just posted them last night...

Project entry.....
I had lots of scrap for this one and tried to use them all! Then I decided to encase it which gave it tons of depth!
Here's one side.....

Annndddd, here's the other side! The flash really obscured the siler foil at the top... made it look gray, with a "flash!" Oh, well, I'm working on the photography with a digital part....
