About a week or so ago, Ingrid posted an amazing set of beads using moretti EDP (Evil Devitrifying Purple) with silver foil. I've been threatening to spend more time with this elusive purple and I finally had my day. These combine other colors as well, but the idea is the same. Now, go try something new and amaze yourself.

Those are cool!!!! I finally had some beads turn out using the purple and I was so happy!! I'm still trying to figure out the "organic "look to beads. I've only been doing serious beadmaking for 2 months now. Any beadmaking tips ya'll what to throw at me? I won't mind the bruises!!:D Thanks!

y'all might try out making a silvered purple stringer...i use leaf for that...the resulting stringer is gold!!!!!! beautiful rust to copper to gold...if you apply it to ivory it turns mahogany....will post a pic
the focal is ivory hollow with silvered edp stringer applied. The most interesting thing about silver and edp...is that ...;-) depending on the order and what goes down when...the colors are different...I LOVE IT! Also my trick for taming the edp is to always start it on a base bead of moretty new violet...that is the one that almost looks grey in the rod. It seems to tame some of the devit. ;-) Also Ivory on edp turns blackish...try a dot bead edp, ivory dots and then edp again...you get that bluish color that edp goes thru when you have torched it....;-) I LOVE this color...and I am not even close to being done playing with it and mixing it with other things...the fact that it is unstable means to me it has a lot of fun surprises yet to come...btw edp and coral go black...really black ...could be a poor womans black ;-)
And..........i just bought two of jim smircich's beads...they looked soooooo different ...i just had to see what they were...grin...the stringer was silvered edp ;-)

Hey Lauri, I saw your beads out on eBay, and had to wipe the drool off my keyboard. Sure glad the boss didn't walk in and see me drooling once again - off to the funny farm for sure.

Lauri- lovely beads! They look like they belong on a coral reef, tucked in amongst some algae and eels. Great job.

Well, Lauri and Ingrid, I wish I could say that your beads have inspired me to create beautiful works of art. But, that would be lying! ;) I was inspired all right, but talk about ugly, ugly beads! Good thing I *don't* have a camera!
