View Full Version : Men from Outer Space

This was the wip I was working on and finally got finished. I was trying to do a pure abstraction but it somehow ended up with a sci-fi feeling. C & C very much appreciated. This is acrylics on 11 x 14 stretched canvas.

I really like this one Lynette! Is that a bit of a grid happening in there (thinking of Bev's thread)? I like the way you've achieved a feeling of depth in this. Very nice!

I already loved this in the former state, but still do!
I don't have that sci-fi feeling, more dreamy for me.
Nice, imaginative work Lynnie!

I see warriors crossing Bifrost, the rainbow bridge into Asgard. I think that this is a beautiful painting, the composition and colours work really well and there is enough abstraction to enable many interpretations. I wish that it was one of mine!

Wonderful. Everything is where it needs to be and is a part of the "story".

This is beautiful, love your colour choices and remember seeing it before, it lacked something, it didn't have that wow factor but now it does, its gorgeous.

Very suggestive of an Alien Encounter. Nice work!

Really looks like a well developed painting. The red really sings through the light blue.

i like this. that blue is captivating, it makes me think of the night sky. i see what you mean about the "men" in the form of the red swash at the bottom. i do however also get the sense of Djinn, or even the Watchers from it, who were the origional extraterrestrials, ( see the book of Enoch) so i feel like i am looking at some sort of descent, or even an ancient ritual, and the sky is spinning, hence the yellow swirls made of dot like pattern.

had i not had the influence of a title, i would think a volcanic eruption, which makes me think of the opening scene of Kenneth Angers "lucifer Rising" giving a sense of kinetic energy and movement.
