Done in oils, in a long time sort of was scared of the trees and the
green cause I dont like a green painting.
I didnt seem to get it right with acrylics so I went back to oils.
Used to do them a lot.
Paintings of landscapes must say to me what they inner sees, not just copies of the scene .

First one both 50cm x 60 cm.

This to me still has too much green in but I am quite satisfied with it.
done for lasts months Landscape challenge.

Second one done on a black and white photo in the paintalong challenge

This seems to be more the colours I like and is still in process having to add the windmill by the house, just had so much unexpected rain it takes long to dry, so I can add the windmill.

Do you think the first one would have worked in those colours, maybe I should have made that photo I took black and white before painting it.

Comments appreciated.

Retha, these are both excellent works. I don't know how you'd improve on what you've already got going. Not too much green in the first one; it is just enough. Love the sky in the second one and other elements complement each other well.

Retha I like them both very much. If you don't like green very much try blue greens and yellow greens. I do really like the 2nd one has great atmosphere in it, the sky is great and the Building has a very weathered look to it.

Nice little paintings Retha, the second one with the barn, the thin white edges of the roof are not necessary and take away from the beauty of the other colors. Just a thought, otherwise beautiful colors. Brian

Thanks, didnt really want to improve the painting but thought about what would happen if I try that scene in similar colours at the bottom.
Will try that in Photoshop.

Scottyarthur.

Thanks maybe I should try that.

Briansimons.

Thanks for the comments,
that one isn't completely finished, will post the final later.
