View Full Version : My rooster won the Best Landscape award!

At the Heskesth Hubbard annual exhibition this rooster now has a sign next to it saying Best Landscape. :D

I didn't quite hear the reason because the private view was packed out but there is an award for best life drawing and I think they said that they were counting the other award as being for anything that wasn't a life drawing.

I have never won an award before. :D

Thanks, surreal, marilyn h, Linda and Cheryl! :D

The joy of my award has been dampened by the news that the Professional Development for Artists course that I was due to go on the week after next (it was to be my holiday *grin*) has been cancelled owing to lack of numbers.

Funny looking landscape, though, doncha think? ;) :D

I'm usually in the position of wondering the reasoning behind awards being given to other people - thinking why did they pick that one?! Now it's my turn. It was quite funny to see the little crowd that gathered in front of this picture wondering why I'd got the award and muttering about it not being a landscape. hehehe  :D

I've loved this rooster since the first time I saw it.

Congratulations Sandra.... I can't believe that you have never won an award! I know that this is the first of many to come.

Your art always blows me away. :)

Thanks, llis, animal and JustjoGA! :D

And I didn't realise that there was money involved - I got a cheque in the post as a result of this prize! I was happy enough with the winning label next to my picture. But the money helps, too! :D
