I rented "Mastering Composition" by Ian Roberts from a place online and I have to say it is a fantastic DVD.

Being more visual orientated instead of text book orientated everything sunk in and I can hardly wait to apply the ideas and principals.

If you get an opportunity to buy or rent the DVD set I highly recomment it. It has changed the way I am thinking about my future paintings.

I rented the DVD from Smartflix.com for those that are interested. Overall I have rented over 20 DVD's from them over time and have had no problems. Great service.

Cheers,

M

Thanks Mike! I am also visually oriented and don't like to read. Will give them a try.

Hi,

Unfortunately, here in Portugal there aren't art related dvds for renting.
I know that usual for libraries there to rent movies, name instructional ones.
Here libraries are pretty much the traditional thing: books.

Kind regards,

José

Mike,
I bought the book ‘Mastering Composition’ and a 40 min DVD came with it. I am a bookie, and love Ian’s book, although I must start doing the exercises!! I really love his work.

Here is a link to his website and book.
