Hello fellow glass artist!
My name is Beth and I am new to this forum. I have lurked for sometime at another forum and followed the links here. And boy am I glad I did! For 22 years I have been a professional studio/visual artist, worked in Arts Administration and done several other "Art" related things over the years. This year, quite by accident I discovered torch work and have never been more content! What a wonderful medium. I now work full time making glass beads.
I want to thank all the kind, generous, talented artist who post here. Sharing so much of your work and your techniques is remarkable. And I have learned a great deal from you all. I still have a long long way to go on this journey. I listed my first beads on ebay last night and stand naked before you all, I can do that on this forum, right? (wicked grin) Thought I would be brave and post a photo. Please let me know your suggestions and thoughts, and again thanks for your generous spirits!
Most Fondly,

Beautiful beads, Beth! (From one Beth to another :) ) You don't happen to live in Beaufort, SC do you? (Beaubeads...) I went to school at USC and sister is in Charleston, parents in Charlotte. I, of course, am in Nebraska...go figure.

Welcome and great first auction. I love the focal!

Welcome to WC Beth:clap:

Great beads, and congratulations on getting them out on eBay, a bit scary I would imaging! Your beads are wonderful, I admire that you have done matching sets of each bead, I find it so hard to make the same bead twice, as my glass still has a mind of it's own.

As the others have stated, I love your bi-cone bead, and how well you've tied each of the beads in the set together with the colorations and pattern of the focal. Nice job! Thanks for showing them to us!

Best, Valorie

Wow! You all know how to make a girl feel good, even standing naked! LOL!
I was so nervous last night that I didn't go to bed until 6:30am. After years of shows with my painting, Gallery openings and other things you would think I would have nerves of steel. Yet, somehow this just feels so personal. Anyone else know what I mean??? HOWEVER you all have made me feel welcome and accepted and I thank you most sincerely. I have admired many of your works for the last several months. And take this as high praise.
Now I think I will put some clothes on and go make beads!
Most Fondly,
Beth:cat: ;)

I would have loved the call!
The older I get the more I seem to watch the sun come up, not complaining, I get alot of work done and sometimes catch up on old movies. Next time your bouncing around and looking for a partner in crime, I am your girl!
(and I will not sign plus 3)( I think it messes with my self image issues, lol)

Hey Macbeth7,

You're starting to scare me with that devil face:eek:
I wonder what your real face looks like:D

07-07-2002, 09:24 PM
Hehe Beth M,

I'm not Beth 1 or anything...B2 signs her name that way because her last name starts with B...at least I think that's why! :cat: Guess I can be macbeth...my ID on another forum was bethdamit...don't ask...

Harold, I need to dig around on my computer & come up with a pic for my tiny face...as you might remember, I have these organizational issues that impede me in finding anything.

Great beads! I love the bright colors and the focal is really nice. I went to a gallery opening recently and a lot of the paintings had the same bright, primary colors to them. Naked or not, nice going!

To all Beths... as I live with a 6 to 9 h difference, I sometimes feel quite alone in the morning (here) when all of the non-Beth are sleeping over there... so don't forget me when you are staying up all night and are looking for someone to chat with :)
And welcome to Beth

Great beads, Beth, and welcome! A fellow South Carolinian, no less? Where are you located? I'm in Summerville, just outside Charleston.

Hello Motherbeads,
Thank you!
I am in Rock Hill, and I know Summerville well. Seems I always get speeding tickets there on my way into Charleston. LOL.
That area has become an Urban Legend around the state.
But what a beautiful town! Thank you for the welcome!!!!!

Welcome Beth. Great to see you here. Gor-gee-ous beads BTW. Vibrant!
