View Full Version : Do I give good pricing advice?

A colleague asked my advice about pricing a high quality lampwork bead for her website. What in the heck do I know about pricing? I don't know anything. This is a unique and wonderful bead. Here is what I said, and I think it is good advice. I told the beadmaker that whatever price range is rolling around in her head, take the high figure and add ten percent. Because the talented tend to undervalue their work, especially when relatively new. The beadmaker would like it priced to sell right away, and this beadmaker has a customer following on the internet. Did I give good advice?

I think you gave her a good answer, hard to tell with not seeing the bead. The high price rolling around in her head might very well be too low still. If she has a following on Ebay..just put that baby up for bid with a starting bid on the high end....and let it go from there.
