Have several photos I've taken of gardens that I'd like to paint, but I'm wondering about color balance. There is always the obvious option of doing it as is, but I'm wondering if there are any 'tricks' to make the painting more vibrant?

Many gardeners already know the power of placing flowers of particular colors together for impact. All the same color principals that work with ALL paintings will work with your garden.

If your gardener has made poor choices and you need to move flowers around by taking artistic license, then consider using your color wheel to help you.

My favorites.... yellows with blues, reds with purples. Another thing that I do is find paintings that I really think "pop" and study them to see what they did.

Good luck... I'd love to see what you end up doing.
