Hello Guys,

This is one in a Series of paintings I am doing for My Mother. She is one of four sisters and each of them was born in a different season, so she asked me to do a painting representing each of them as the season of their birth.

Here is a link to the full size version:

I like the scenery !

The red tree however reminds me rather of autumn than of spring....

What a wonderful project! Beautiful colors. Everything reads Spring, except the red tree. Maybe because I don't often see red blossoms in the Spring where I live. I like how you set the mountain off-center a bit.

Oh wow, you got to do every season in honor of family...that's pretty neat! I am such a family person and love the idea :) . Your painting is beautiful...i love the composition, the fresh greens and the mountains!! But I agree and that was the 1st thing I thought...it reads more like early fall regarding the reddish tree. Spring blossoms usually are either white or pink. Red, golden yellow, rust, bugundy and burnt orange have more of an autumn feel. Don't get me wrong, your painting is absolutely awesome but if you want to seperate the seasons for your lovely family this is a good pointer :)

Lovely painting. I suspect your red tree is a maple. I am waiting for mine to leaf this very moment and the leaves will be red.

Are you going to do the same scene but at different times of the year or different scenes?

 The painting is bright and cheerful, Rick! It is a lovely scene. As for the red tree, maybe tone it to more of a dark burgundy. I have one of the red maples Carol mentioned in my yard and it has red-brown leaves. Even so, the color there is very inviting. I have to say though, that clear blue water and the mountains are especially nice. Your mom will LOVE this! :D

Beautiful painting, but I agree with the others about the red tree.
