Another moody New England lanscape/sunset. I am really going for the transition of day to night on this one.

This is beautiful, the subtle shift of color between sky and earth, in keeping with each element is wonderful. The light is great, the luminosity emanating from the sky. If I were to make any sort of suggestion for bettering the painting I would point out the dark colors. Notice how the thinly painted diffuse ones accompany the beauty of the painting, whereas the thick impasto ones are a bit unpleasant to the eye and intrusive, having as is their nature used this way sort of a gummy pasted on look. Generally speaking the darks should be painted thinly because of this, also some of them have a tendency to crack in age. It is the light passages where the impasto can be built up. That way their raised surfaces catch and scatter the light and they become all the more luminous.
Welcome to the WC! I hope to see more of your beautiful work.

Lovely painting - obviously painted with great sensitivity.
