OMG this is absolutely beautiful Who's looking at the grass and that's how it should be. Muted and the target is that terrific tiger. The fun and that tongue and teeth WOW Great job I just love it.

Now that's what I call a Tiger!!! I saw this in A & W, and thought it was quite superb! You really know how to catch these wonderful cats, Julie.

Many thanks for your very kind feedback....I do love big cats, especially tigers and I guess this one took around the 120 hours to complete but apart from the struggle with the grass enjoyed every minute of it!

Julie, fabulous tiger, it felt like it could just jump out of my screen!

I love him, he is perfect!

A beautiful tiger, as already said his features and fur are extremely well done. The time you spent on him was well worth it.

Okay, the interjection that first came to mind when I opened this piece would likely get me banned SO I'll go with something a little more family friendly (although it doesn't really capture the awe that I experiencede) - THIS IS AMAZING! Julie, I have always thought tigers were the most beautiful of the big cats and you have proven that correct, and then some. This is very well done.

To tell you the truth, I hardly noticed the grass at first, and I had to go back and take a look, since you mentioned it... pretty nice grass. The first thing I couldn't take my eyes off that tiger stare and the serious tiger attitude in his face and eyes and the tilt of the ears like he is saying "if you don't get away from me, I'll have to eat you!" It is a spectacular painting showing true tiger attitude. All your hard work, and attention to detail are what make this painting awesome!

Violet.....glad you know where I am coming from!!
Thankyou Don for your kind comments! :).......all the lovely feedback from everyone is very much appreciated!
Justine I do think that it is the tigers eyes and that stare that really captures their characters and I really strive to get that into my paintings, so thankyou for your lovely comments, again they are so very much appreciated! :)

What an outstanding job! The strength and independence he exudes is amazing. What a great painting.

:cat: I could not resist telling you how beautiful this is. I love it. He's so expressive, and his position on the paper is wonderful, his body language. Amazing work, including the grass! Do you make Prints of your work? Can you discribe this paper, and its best qualities.? Thanks for such great work.

Thankyou Barbara! :) so pleased he is well liked...your lovely comments are very much appreciated!
Thankyou for the lovely feedback, IMaybe! :) I really enjoyed doing this tiger, must admit though, the grass did prove to be the biggest challenge!....I have decided to get a few Giclée prints done of him to see if they might sell!....wish me luck!! :)
The Royal Sovereign pastel card is a fine sanded type card rather than paper and I find that it kind of grabs the pastel smoothly, which helps me to get the detail I like and it also holds the many layers of pastel I like to apply too!....I just love it! it is manufactured under three other brand names too...think it might depend on which part of the world you live!...if you like the sanded type surface to work on I don't think you would be disappointed if you were to try it! :)
