MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
image looks very flat to me. what should be done to create depath

With this composition I think you have done what you can. If we're looking at a forest we cant really see too deeply into it when the trees are so dense. To see further back you'de have to cut down some trees ;-)
You have painted lighter colored and thinner trees that do suggest distance. And its enough.
Using such a limited palette you have created a cool inviting scene.

I like it flat! the minute you'll make depth, it will lose its beauty, the game of flatness is the secret of sucssess here.

a slight increase of depth would be created if that warm lavender background which advances were replaced with the cooler lavender/blue hue you have in the lower right corner. Being cooler that color retreats and so gives more of a sense of depth.
