How many of you would like to see an article about the way I make mushrooms in soft glass. This will include a method of introducing goldstone into the head of the mushroom. The reason I ask is that I do not know how many artists make soft glass mushrooms. If everyone does it... Sense I do not do bead shows it is hard to keep up with the bead world. I used to advertise these as the best mushrooms in the world. :D

I'd love to see how they're done. Always game to try new things. I haven't seen any other mushrooms, either. Do you use czech glass for them or whatever soft glass you have around? The casing is so clear, it couldn't be moretti ;)

I'd like to learn how also Mike. I did my very first bead show on June 22nd, and didn't see any mushrooms there. Tried them ages ago on my HotHead..........

I'd be very interested in seeing how those are done.

I've only made the cheapy looking single color ones with boro.

I would love to see an article. I have wanted to try with soft glass, but haven't had success. Can you say blob!

OK, I will do it. Just thought I would ask first. NE Iowa is not a hot 'hot' bed of glass work. As far as I knew there were bunches of people making soft glass bead mushrooms.
I've only made the cheapy looking single color ones with boro.
Kristian, your killing me. As 'full disclosure' it was the really, really dull mushroom beads I was seeing people/kids wearing that said to me that there is a better way. It was a bead maker from the east coast that described the boro technique. I then destroyed a bunch of glass until figured it out. With the boro colors today, I think there will be some really cool boro mushrooms out there.
Can you say blob!
Blob, I piles of blobs. Lara, you will need a bit of a blob to make one.
The process will take a few weeks I think. First time, ya know.

Hey Mike, I'm a "Yes" vote. Any mushrooms I've tried have just turned into blobs..very unmushroom-like.
