MY COMMENTS:
I painted this over a weekend. I got this idea in a semi-sleep state.

Any feedback are really appreciated.
Moez

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Any ideas on how I can build upon a simple idea like this?
Any suggestions on the composition?

I like this idea. As far as the composition is concerned, I think the cross itself would do better a bit higher (or even lower) instead of in the middle which is creating a kind of bullseye effect. Higher up would give it a bit more spirituality with little more than a sheer suggestiveness just from placement. Building on simplicity--you have a good contrast of values, but maybe further contrast in texture: jagged cliffs, with soft clouds would add a little more dynamic. Or even more intense colors.

I do really like the shape of the cliff and the drama of the canvas itself.

nice job, good simple composition, quite meditative ... i'd sure hate to be the one they call to dig that grave, but i do enjoy the view!
