Actually, a two-fer. The first is Savannah Square (not sure which one though), 8x10, the other one, a Savannah Street (not sure about that one either) 4x6.

How nice! The first one is pretty but the second one is my favourite. There is something about that spare, square look that I really like. It reminded me to stop trying to mix every colour and to get the mass shape right. There are two people on the right in the first one that could probably see themselves in those postures. Not static stands there.

Every time I see your paintings, I stand back 2 feet, then 4 feet, and it looks better and better. But even the closeups are wonderful and each stroke a masterwork in itself.

These are both wonderful. Great lesson in capturing the essence of a scene by eliminating detail and just capturing the correct relationship between the main masses. Now I need to go and re-learn that lesson myself!
