T, from all the ones I've seen so far this is your best, top notch, I would say you nailed this one perfectly.

What I like most is the power of the expression. It's achieved with the color and strokes that you've done here and it's really well painted.

The crop is strong and the greens in this piece really give it power.

I'd love to know if this is actual color or not.

amazing! Barb

As has been said already, it glows. You have captured the spirit beautifully, great work

Very nice! I really like the edges in this. The shadow under his chin bothers me a bit, it looks abit too solidly dark. It could be just the way the camera sees it though, if that's the case ignore me :)

Thanks so much!! :) I am pleased with the colors in this one too..Like I said photo reference was excellent... I will post it. I am thinking of putting in his ear & want to work on the eyes & mouth a little.. I see the jawline& side of face is fuller in my painting than the photo.. but a true likeness was not as important to me as his expression & color on this one...
Yes, Barb this is very close to painting colors. It is a tad brighter ... but not off by much, which is something I have a hard time with at times.. getting the photo to match colors of painting.. but this time it came out pretty darn close.

Very strong one, T. I'd like to see a bit more of a suggestion of an ear, though not a lot of detail there. I think it would draw away from the face too much. But don't fiddle it to pieces, girl! It doesn't need a lot more.
