Hi Gang,
I am still around. The last few months have been super busy. Rather than bore you with the details, I will show you what I finally am sitting down to. I am working on a Celtic Knot panel. The middle frame shape is directly out of the Tess Turorials (triangle knots!). The outside ring is fighting dragons. They are my interpretations of celtic beasts. I have not decided what is going in to the middle yet. I am working on the outside as well as linking some of the knots to decrease the number of lines in the drawing. Hopefully, you will find this WIP fun. - Chris

Marie, Thanks for following. The dragons started off as dogs, but the boarder got too complicated when I added the legs. Here is an update. I made a lot more links to reduce the number of ropes used in the drawing and I've started inking.

Watch the Under & Overs the right hand side knots seem to have 2 unders. Nice work

Quills, Thanks for the tip. that knot had a problem. I found several under-over problems. There is still one that I didn't notice until I had inked the entire area around it. Here is a lot more porgress. I am at the point where I am going to print the knot onto card stock and pay with shading, the middle, and possibly colors. - Chris

 Lookin' good, Chris!

I'm gonna be evil here... I've got two ideas for the center but neither one is gonna be, um, easy.

1st idea: One of your lighthouses. You could use spiraly things for the ocean & light-beams, knots for rocks & the building. Instead of using solid lines to define those shapes, keep 'em subtle by (gasp! Is she Nuts???) stippling.

2nd idea: Repeat the dragon theme, having the tails evolve from a larger spiral.

Or maybe you've come up with something else... Love to see you try either one of those ideas on another one!

Yow! Nothing like setting stretch goals. I will probably give those a try. First, I am going to put a little calligraphy down. Since it looks like a frame, I am going to write out a blessing or quote and see what it looks like. I do like the idea of the knotted lighthouse with spiral rocks though!! - Chris

Told ya I was gonna be evil. :D

Can't wait to see the calligraphy~ I'm *still* awful at it.

It has taken me too long to get this put together ( not even trying Tess' challenges). Here is the the completed work (I did keep the calligraphy separate from the knot panel so I can play with more ideas). - Chris

Nice finish, Chris!

I really like it in B&W, but I'm curious... Did you play with color on this one?

Thanks Rosemary! I haven't tried color yet. Now that I have a good scan, I will print it out on card stock and see what else I can do. I still like your idea of a knot lighthouse. - Chris

Nice finish Chris, I like the Irish Blessing. Rosemary's (aka Tess  ) thought about colour is a good suggestion. It would look lovely in colour as well.
